Queensland Covid-19 Border restrictions Direction (No 16) Effective Day before the Election?



Queensland Health is continuing to respond to the declared public health emergency in relation to coronavirus (COVID-19). The below Public Health Directions are for all of Queensland.  NEW PUBLIC HEALTH DIRECTION  In the past 24 hours, the following three Public Health Directions were issued. Border restrictions Direction (No. 16) Effective from 3 pm 30 October 2020 The purpose of this Direction is to slow the spread of COVID-19 through border restrictions.

The Direction has been updated to:Increase the validity of the Border Declaration Pass from 7 to 14 days allow unaccompanied minors to enter Queensland if there is a responsible adult who consents to quarantine in government arranged accommodation with the child allow disaster management workers to enter Queensland to prepare for, respond to or assist in recovery from disasters give effect to the new Disaster Management ProtocolInclude new requirements for how people can travel to quarantine or leave quarantine for permitted purposes such as that a person travelling in a taxi must travel in the back seat on the passenger sideRequire people in quarantine to wear a mask whenever directed to by an emergency officer not allow people who are waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test to enter Queensland until they receive a negative result, unless they are entering for an essential activity to clarify that as soon as a place is removed from the list of COVID-19 hotspot, you can enter Queensland even if you had been to that place in the 14 days before include three new postcodes in the border zone. This Direction replaces the former Border Restrictions Direction (No. 15) given on 23 September 2020.  3260380.png
Self-quarantine for Persons Arriving from Overseas Direction (No. 6)Effective from 26 October 2020The purpose of this Direction is to ensure all people arriving in Queensland from overseas quarantine in nominated premises for 14 days.

The Direction has been updated so that:People need to wear a face mask when told to do so by an emergency officer, and when leaving quarantineUnaccompanied minors must quarantine in a nominated premise with a parent, guardian or other responsible adult – they cannot quarantine at a homeClarify the travel requirements for people in quarantineThis direction replaces the former Self-quarantine for Persons Arriving in Queensland from Overseas Direction (No. 5) given on 8 July 2020.3260380.png
Self-isolation for Diagnosed Cases of COVID-19 Direction (No. 4)Effective from 26 October 2020The purpose of this Direction is to ensure people diagnosed with COVID-19 isolate.

The Direction has been updated so that:People need to wear a face mask when told to do so by an emergency officer, and when leaving isolationThere are updates to the travel arrangements to and from isolationThere are updates to who can enter a premises where someone with a diagnosed case of COVID-19 is staying.This direction replaces the former Self-Isolation for Diagnosed Cases of COVID-19 Direction (No. 3) made on 19 May 2020.3260380.png
