President Trump UN Speech |
During his address at the United Nations General Assembly, Donald Trump sharply criticized what he called the "green energy" movement, referring to it as a "scam" and a "con job." He claimed that countries pursuing green energy policies are destined for economic failure.
Climate Change as a "Con Job"
In his speech, Trump dismissed climate change as "the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world." He argued that predictions made by the United Nations and other groups about climate change have been consistently wrong and were created by "stupid people that have cost their countries fortunes."He also claimed that the concept of a "carbon footprint" is a hoax.
The Dangers of Green Energy
Trump specifically warned against the shift to renewable energy sources, stating, "If you don't get away from this green scam, your country is going to fail." He criticized what he saw as a growing dependence on renewables, mockingly calling them a "costly failure." He advocated for the use of "traditional energy sources" as a path to national prosperity. Trump also made a point to celebrate the increased drilling for oil and natural gas in the United States under his administration.
A "Double-Tailed Monster"
Trump linked the pursuit of green energy to immigration policies, calling them a "double-tailed monster" that destroys countries. In his view, both are misguided, destructive policies that threaten national sovereignty and economic stability.
